To the Competitors, Fans and Sponsors of Salina Speedway,

In the volatile economic times that we live in, competition for the entertainment dollar has risen to an all time high. The most successful racetracks in the country have had a tough time breaking even for the last few years. It is for this reason that Fairchild Promotions, Inc. d.b.a. Salina Speedway has decided not to open Salina Speedway for the 2007 race season. Many things have factored into this decision. The number one reason is we realize that continuing with our current path, we will not be able to make the improvements and updates that we want and our racers and fans deserve. Operating the speedway while attempting to improve it at the same time is impossible. To meet our long term goal of providing the best racing entertainment in Kansas, we must make this difficult decision for the short term.

I would like to thank the fans, drivers and track workers that have helped to make the show at Salina Speedway become one of the best in the nation. We wish everyone success in whatever they do in the 2007 season. It is our desire to be able to re-open in the future with a facility that we can all be proud of and return Salina Speedway to its rightful place as Salinas Action Attraction!
